This is a follow up ethnographic qualitative study after the Mombasa cohort study for estimation of HIV-1 incidence among 400 female sex workers. Multiple methods will be used in data collection including in-depth interviews, focus group discussions and key informant interviews. In depth interviews will involve 24 women who got pregnant in the course of the cohort study. Stratification by age 16-20, 20-24, 25-29 and 30-34 will obtain a wide range of views and opinions from across a wide spectrum of the sex work population. Four focus group discussions will be conducted involving participants selected randomly from among the 400 women who participated in the cohort study. Five key informant interviews will be conducted involving study staff.
