International Centre for Reproductive Health Kenya (ICRHK) is  a Kenya-based Non-Governmental organization. ICRHK conducts research and intervention projects in Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH). Some of the specific areas of focus for ICRHK include HIV/STI prevention and treatment, addressing Sexual and Gender-based violence (GBV), improving Maternal and Child Health, promoting Family Planning, and addressing the needs of Adolescents in terms of Sexual and Reproductive Health through research.

Overview:

International Centre for Reproductive Health Kenya (ICRHK) seeks to enhance its data management and informatics capabilities through the implementation and configuration of a customized DHIS2 instance. DHIS2 will support the organization’s goals by offering a robust platform for managing, analysing, and visualizing health data effectively, particularly within reproductive health, maternal health, HIV prevention, and child protection domains.

This project will require a consultant or consulting firm to lead both the technical configuration of DHIS2 and change management processes to facilitate user adoption, ensuring that the system meets the needs of all stakeholders while aligning with ICRHK’s strategic objectives.

Key Assignment Deliverables 

  1. To configure and customize DHIS2 to support data informatics requirements across ICRHK’s key program
  2. To establish a sustainable change management approach to foster user adoption and engagement with the new DHIS2
  3. To train relevant staff in DHIS2 use and data management best practices, enabling improved data- informed decision-making.

Scope of Work 

The consultant will undertake the following:

1. Technical Configuration

  • System Architecture  &  Setup:  Customize  DHIS2  architecture  to  align  with  ICRHK’s  data workflow, including setting up data entry forms, metadata, indicators, and organizational
  • Data Elements & Indicators Design: Configure DHIS2 data elements and indicators that align with ICRHK’s program areas and reporting needs, ensuring effective monitoring and
  • User Roles and Access Management: Define and configure user roles and permissions within DHIS2 to maintain data security and integrity across different access
  • Dashboard and Report Customization: Develop customized dashboards and reports tailored to program needs, allowing easy access to real-time data
  • Integration & Interoperability: Design integration modules for interoperability with existing data systems to streamline data flow and minimize duplication of efforts.

2. Change Management

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Facilitate a collaborative, consultative approach to involve stakeholders in the configuration process, ensuring alignment with program objectives and buy-
  • Training &  Capacity  Building:  Conduct comprehensive  DHIS2  training  sessions  for  staff, including data entry, analysis, and troubleshooting
  • Documentation & Knowledge Transfer: Develop clear, accessible documentation covering DHIS2 system use, data management processes, and troubleshooting

Ongoing Support: Provide post-deployment support to address user feedback and optimize the system configuration as required.

Requirements

  • Proven track record in DHIS2 configuration, data informatics, and change management within healthcare or non-profit settings
  • Collaborative, consultative approach to project execution
  • Willingness to travel if required

Timeframe

The assignment is expected to take approximately 30 days
