Background
The Reproductive Health Commodity Security (RHCS) Curriculum has been developed to enhance the knowledge and skills of healthcare providers and stakeholders in ensuring a reliable supply of reproductive health commodities in Kenya. To increase accessibility and facilitate continuous learning, there is a need to digitize this curriculum for online learning, certification, and awarding of Continuous Professional Development (CPD) points.
UNFPA in collaboration with the Ministry of Health Kenya wishes to engage a Consultant who has the expertise to support in the digitization of the supply chain management training packages. The consultancy is open to individuals and organizations who respond with competitive and relevant proposals.
In the context of this course, digitization means converting the existing SCM training materials into digital formats, leveraging technology to enhance accessibility, interactivity, and effectiveness of the training. This process may include developing e-learning modules, interactive simulations, digital assessments, and integrating multimedia elements to create a comprehensive and engaging digital learning experience for the trainees.
Purpose of this activity
The main objective of this consultancy is to digitize the SCM Curriculum and develop a learning platform that offers:
- Interactive learning modules
- Assessments and quizzes
- Certification upon successful completion
- Tracking and awarding of CPD points
Scope of work:
Under the leadership of the Ministry of Health, UNFPA and ICRHK, the Consultant will:
- Prepare and present to DRMH/MOH and stakeholders, an inception report detailing conceptualization of the TOR, the plan/roadmap for undertaking the task, methodology, key definitions, a preliminary list of key resource materials, and outlines of the digitization
- Assess current training materials and identify content suitable for
- Customize and develop the digital learning content to meet the specific needs of the Ministry of Health FP training
- Develop/adopt and integrate multimedia elements such as videos, animations, and interactive modules to enhance engagement and learning outcomes and ensure content accessibility and usability for users with varying levels of digital
- Develop a pilot version of the digitized SCM Training Packages for initial testing and
- Deploy the final version of the digitized SCM Training Package across relevant health facilities and training institutions through existing digital platformsg MOH Virtual Academy.
- Establish mechanisms for monitoring usage and effectiveness of the digitized training package to ensure a competency based training
- Submit regular progress reports and a final evaluation report outlining outcomes and recommendations for further

Qualifications and Skills
- Proven experience in curriculum development and digitization, preferably in the health
- Education: Advanced University Degree in a related
- Expertise in developing and managing online learning platforms (LMS).
- Strong technical skills in multimedia content creation and
- Familiarity with CPD accreditation processes and
- Excellent project management and communication

International Centre for Reproductive Health Kenya (ICRHK) is a Kenya-based Non-Governmental organization. ICRHK conducts research and intervention projects in Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH). Some of the specific areas of focus for ICRHK include HIV/STI prevention and treatment, addressing Sexual and Gender-based violence (GBV), improving Maternal and Child Health, promoting Family Planning, and addressing the needs of Adolescents in terms of Sexual and Reproductive Health through research. Overview:
Family planning (FP) and other reproductive and maternal health related issues such as Emergency Obstetric and Newborn Care, Post Abortion Care, Maternal and Perinatal Death Surveillance and Response among others has been acknowledged as important drivers to achieving the sustainable development goals in Kenya with substantial investments made in training healthcare workers despite that there has been a significant gap in these areas at the preservice level for medical cadres.
The Ministry of Health (MOH) in collaboration with, UNFPA and ICRH Kenya seeks to engage a Consultant to undertake a comprehensive gaps analysis on the pre-service curriculum to provide evidence on the need to revise the Universities and Training Institutions pre-service curriculum to include any emerging issues and innovations that are not reflected in the current pre-service curriculum.
Requirements
- Advanced University Degree with at least Masters in Public Health, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Nursing or related field
- Experience in curriculum development
- Strong analytical skills and experience in conducting gap analyses and stakeholder consultations
- Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and professional skills in interacting with government, civil society, and development partners
- Excellent writing and communications skills
- Al least 7 years relevant Consultancy experience
- Has experience working with MOH at the National Level and also training institutions

Evaluation
The selection of the consultant will be based on;
- Qualifications /skills suitability and proven experience in similar consultancies (Max 60 points)
- Value for money (Max 40 Points)
