Charles Mwai

Mwai holds a Master’s degree and a Post Graduate Diploma in Health Systems research for development from Karolinska Institute.  His main expertise lies in design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of innovative and high-impact HIV prevention strategies in resource-constrained settings. Prior to joining ICRHK, as an experienced expert in developing and evaluating HIV/AIDS interventions, he implemented the monitoring and evaluation component during the piloting of the Prevention of Mother to Child Transmission (PMTCT) program in three sites in Kenya which resulted in the scaling up of PMTCT programs in Kenya and also by various agencies including UNICEF.

At the National Level, Charles has participated in developing monitoring and evaluation indicators to be used in reporting HIV and AIDS service delivery and developed a database of information for monitoring the effects of HIV and AIDS programmes.
