The ICRH Kenya Board is pleased to announce the appointments of Dr. Susan Ontiri as Country Director and Dr. Patricia Owira as Deputy Country Director.

Dr. Ontiri is a Public Health Specialist with over 12 years of experience working on integrated public health programs including family planning, maternal health, adolescent health, child survival, and environmental health in Kenya and other sub-Saharan African countries. She joins us from Population Services International as the Senior Advisor, providing leadership on the evidence and learning portfolio of family planning projects implemented in Uganda, Nigeria, Malawi, and Kenya. Dr. Ontiri holds a Bachelor’s in Environmental Health from Moi University, a Master’s in Public Health (Epidemiology) from Maseno University, and a Doctorate in Public Health from the University of Groningen, Netherlands.

Dr. Owira is a Medical Doctor and Public Health Specialist with vast experience leading the design, management, implementation and evaluation of multiple sexual reproductive health program and research interventions. She previously served as the Technical Advisor for Sexual Reproductive Health programs at ICRH Kenya. Dr. Owira holds a Bachelor’s in Human Anatomy and a Bachelor’s in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Nairobi, and a Master’s in Public Health for Development from the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine. She is a Chevening Alumni, Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders Alumni, and African Academy of Sciences International Research Management Programme Alumni.
