Low uptake of contraceptives uses among youth in Kitui
There is a relatively low uptake of contraceptive use among adolescents and youths in Kitui county. The report goes on to say that only 8 per cent of adolescents and young women were using contraception by age 18. Yet, 57 per cent of them have had first sex by age 18, signalling the possibility of unintended pregnancies.
However, there was low response in terms of cases of early marriages as 8 per cent of teens and young women were married by age 18, which is the legal age to be an adult in Kenya.
